Large BWT system trials progress

Oct 11 2013

Fluid handling system manufacturer Coldharbour Marine has successfully completed the land-based testing of its ballast water treatment solution at MEA, Netherlands.

The company claimed that it was the first and thus far only concern to have an IMO G8 type system achieving both the IMO and USCG standards without any type of filtration unit.

Sea trials on board a VLCC should be completed by the end of April next year, Coldharbour told ‘Tanker Operator’.
