(Nov  19  2009)

The naming ceremony for what is claimed to be the world’s first LNG/LPG/Ethylene carrier was held on 15th November.

‘Norgas Innovation’ was named at Shenghui Gas & Chemical Systems in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province, China.

She was built according to Germanischer Lloyd (GL)'s rules for classification and construction and labelled GL's ice class notation E.

‘Norgas Innovation’ is scheduled to be delivered to owner Singco Gas Pte Ltd, a joint venture between IM Skaugen Marine Services and GATX Corp by the end of this year or early January 2010.

IM Skaugen Marine Services is a 100% owned subsidiary of Norway-based IM Skaugen SE.

Flying the Singapore flag, the vessel will be operated by Norgas Carriers AS.
