The next Aframax type tanker was laid down at Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex

At Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex, the keel laying ceremony of the next 114,000 DWT Aframax type tanker was carried out.

Steel cutting for 8 tanker began in the shipyard's Hull Fabrication shop in October 2020, and the planned delivery date for the vessel to the Buyer is 2022. 

 

The vessel is being built by order of Sovcomflot PAO, with following freighting by NK Rosneft PAO. The agreement about the construction of two Aframax type oil tankers was signed in September 2018 within the framework of the IV Eastern Economic Forum. 

 

During the official ceremony with the participation of the shipyard's management, representatives of the Buyer, partnership organizations and the Company's workforce, Sergey Tseluiko, Managing Director of Zvezda, SSK, and Sergey Tsyba, Supervision team leader of Sovcomflot ECO, attached a memorable inset nameplate to the keel section of the future tanker.

 

At the moment, 7 Aframax type tankers are being constructed at various stages at the shipyard. The main vessel of the series was delivered to the Buyer at the end of 2020. 

 

Aframax type tankers are designed for the transportation of crude oil and oil products in an unrestricted navigation area. The tanker length is 250 meters, the width is 44 meters, the deadweight is 114K tons, also aircraft platform is on the vessel. The power plants of Aframax type tankers can operate on liquefied natural gas in accordance with high environmental standards and the new regulations to emission limitation of sulfur oxides and greenhouse gases in the region of Baltic and North seas.
