Thun Tankers delivery of Thun Equality

May 27 2021

Thun Tankers are proud to inform that we have taken delivery of Thun Equality.

The vessel is the third “E-Class” tanker in a series of four ordered, gas powered, high quality vessels built by Scheepswerf Ferus Smit B.V in the Netherlands. Upon delivery, the Thun Equality will be trading within the Gothia Tanker Alliance network.

Thun Tankers is part of the Erik Thun Group, a company owned by the Källsson family since 1938. For decades we have designed increasingly economic and energy efficient quality ships, using in-house knowledge to provide our customers with sustainable and cost efficient transport solutions.

The E-class vessels are a further evolvement of Erik Thun’s existing fleet and focus on efficiency, environmental care and customers’ needs has been essential when developing the new vessels. The vessels are built to the absolute latest design meeting and often exceeding existing and forthcoming regulations. The new vessels reduced fuel consumption with an increased cargo intake, less exhaust emissions and lowered noise levels are a few examples of that.

– Equality describes how we want to approach people and the societies where we operate. With today’s delivery, we in Thun Tankers would like to wish the vessel and her crew fair winds with safe and sustainable sailings. - Joakim Lund, CCO at Thun Tankers BV.

– Equality is a big part of our sustainability work, and it has been and will be a focus ahead. Today’s delivery of the Thun Equality is a great example of our vision to be a sustainable Swedish partner over generations. - Johan Källsson, Managing Director at Erik Thun AB.
