Systems Navigator rollout of Dropboard at platform of TotalEnergies in Antwerp

Sep 09 2021

The European Refining and Petrochemicals entity of TotalEnergies has selected Dropboard as its planning & scheduling platform for berths.

The technology is foreseen to be deployed at multiple sites, starting at the platform of TotalEnergies in Antwerp, the company’s largest integrated complex in Europe. Dropboard is the link between the headquarters of TotalEnergies and the site scheduling teams facilitating real-time scheduling insights and plan updates. This, in combination with Systems Navigator’s advanced scheduling algorithms, results in reduced demurrage costs.

Improved coordination of decision-making

When data is not properly shared between stakeholders, it easily leads to suboptimal decision making. Furthermore, it is very inefficient to manage and consolidate data in multiple systems as it can result in data errors. Dropboard is connected to the IT landscape of TotalEnergies and shares information with their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Business Intelligence platform to improve the transparency and communications between stakeholders working on multiple locations. The multi-user platform creates visibility on site constraints throughout the supply chain, enabling planners to make better (informed) decisions.

Reducing demurrage costs

Dropboard visualizes waiting times and predicts future demurrage costs. Users are able to identify the root causes of demurrage and take demurrage risks into account when making operational decisions. By harmonizing jetty planning for all sites, all entities are able to monitor demurrage predictions in the same tool using the same indicators. Dropboard users are alerted of events that have an impact on the planning. This facilitates risk mitigation and allows for plan optimization.

On Systems Navigator side: “We are proud to support the boosting of the efficiency of the platform in Antwerp by optimizing and harmonizing the business processes of the logistic operations. We are excited that Dropboard will play a major role in reducing demurrage costs and allowing planners to make better decisions at all sites where Dropboard is deployed”. – stated Joost Smits, Systems Navigator Commercial Manager.
