Ardmore partners with SEDNA

Product and chemical tanker operator Ardmore Shipping has selected SEDNA to provide the company’s new email management and team collaboration platform.

The software will be used for Ardmore’s global commercial desks, including operations, chartering and commercial finance teams.

According to Ha Eun Ruppelt, Ardmore Shipping’s commercial project manager, the decision to choose SEDNA began with the company’s desire to achieve the same high standards of efficiency and operational performance in its commercial activities as it has achieved across its fleet.

“How we collaborate as a team and how we manage our relationships with customers and partners needs to be as efficient and effective as possible. However, we were encountering critical issues with email, in terms of storage space, speed of search and a lack of transparency. We needed a solution that would enable our teams to focus on serving our customers, instead of spending hours each day managing their emails,” she said.

Having investigated a number of providers of alternative systems, Ruppelt explained the decision to choose SEDNA was due to its technology and change management services.

“SEDNA’s reputation in the shipping industry as an innovative solution to help teams become more efficient strongly aligned with our own vision. Their platform lives up to the idea of a modern, user-friendly cloud solution. However, what really sold us was the people at SEDNA. We view them as a partner with the expertise and support to help us digitally transform,” she added.

Ardmore Shipping’s adoption of SEDNA reflects growing awareness across the industry of the potential impact of inefficient shoreside processes. As an alternative to traditional email tools such as Outlook or Gmail, SEDNA delivers faster search and filtering, unlimited archiving, programmability and automated tagging. It is estimated that this can save people up to two hours a day managing their communications, the company claimed.

Bill Dobie, SEDNA CEO, explained: “We’re excited that such a respected industry name as Ardmore Shipping is joining the growing community of SEDNA users, and we’re looking forward to delivering faster, simpler and more transparent collaboration between Ardmore and its global network of customers, partners and suppliers.”
