Specialist international shipping law firm, Campbell Johnston Clark (CJC) has made new senior appointments to the Admiralty and Casualty teams in its London and Singapore offices.

Paul Apostolis is joining CJC’s Singapore office from HFW Singapore, while Andrew Gray joins as a partner in London from Clyde & Co.

Both appointments were effective 1st August.

Alistair Johnston, Director and one of the three founders of CJC, said the appointments were indicative of the importance the firm places on its Admiralty and Casualty work.

Johnston also said that CJC would strengthen its presence in Asia in the coming weeks, with another senior individual joining its Singapore team from HFW Singapore.

 

To support the growing volume of ship-to-ship transfers of oil and gas being undertaken by SafeSTS in an increasing number of locations around the world, the company has made three new appointments at its global headquarters in Diss, Norfolk.

Susan Lawrence has joined the company as QHSE Officer taking responsibility for the management and further development of Health and Safety systems.

Gemma Lear has been appointed as HR & Corporate Support Officer, and as well as assisting with the development and delivery of HR strategy and systems, she will provide support relating to issues of corporate governance and compliance associated with the company's global business operations.

Having originally joined the company on a temporary contract, Sarah Barrett has been appointed as Accounts Assistant on a permanent contract. She undertakes a wide variety of tasks to support the Financial Reporting and Compliance Director in providing strong financial management to this growing organisation.

 

Shipowners Claims Bureau (SCB), the manager of the American P & I Club, has recently announced a series of appointments.  

The recent appointments are:

·       Dorothea Ioannou - Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

·       Arpad Kadi - Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

·      Manish (Manny) Beri - Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Security Officer (CSO).

·       Philip Clancey - Chief Actuary and Risk Officer (CARO).

With responsibility for the implementation of overall strategy for the commercial development and growth of the American Club and its associated enterprises, Ioannou’s new role as CCO encompasses the co-ordination of sales, marketing, product development and service delivery.

Kadi assumes the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and has the responsibility for supervising the many functional elements of the organisation's financial strategy.

These include, among others, day-to-day accounting, financial metrics and controls, and relationships with the Club's auditors and other agencies, both private and public.

Beri now has a dual role as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Security Officer (CSO). He has responsibility for overall strategy in the development and implementation of the organisation's IT and related capabilities, including systems enhancement and cyber-security.

Clancey has assumed the role of Chief Actuary and Risk Officer (CARO).  In this capacity, he is responsible for the risk management dimensions of operating the American Club and its associated enterprises.
