Nautisk and Furuno in partnership agreement

Digital navigation specialist, Nautisk has announced a partnership with Furuno Electronics.

Nautisk has developed products, including a digital document library, which have a synergy with hardware and electronics solutions from Furuno, the companies said.

 

The two companies have agreed to distribute Nautisk products and develop collaborative tools aimed at enhancing shipping operations and management.

 

Nautisk’s CEO, Thomas Fjeld, said: “This is an exciting partnership for Nautisk. We have been innovating in the development of our digital navigation portfolio to create products that save time and money on the bridge, reducing carbon footprint and enhancing security. The partnership with Furuno will not only enable us to broaden the global marketing potential of our products, but allow us to explore a number of collaborative initiatives.”

 

Muneyuki Koike, Furuno managing director, said: "We pride ourselves on pushing the boundaries of marine technology, and Nautisk shares our forward-thinking outlook. We are confident that this will lead to product developments that complement our existing marine portfolio and enable us to push the boundaries of vessel management and automation.”

 

Initially the arrangement will see Nautisk’s digital product portfolio made available through a network of 250 Furuno agents worldwide.
