Nisshin Shipping selects OrbitMI for compliance and emissions management

OrbitMI, a leading provider of maritime SaaS software, announces that it has been selected by Nisshin Shipping Co., Ltd., a global leader in bulk and chemical cargo transportation, to provide vessel reporting and compliance solutions across its fleet.

Nisshin Shipping initially engaged with OrbitMI through a pilot program on a newly built vessel, evaluating its effectiveness in optimizing fleet operations. Following the successful pilot, the deployment expanded to 14 vessels with future expansion to be considered.

Nisshin Shipping selected OrbitMI for its ability to integrate with existing workflows and provide real-time compliance insights. “We sought a solution to enhance fleet management by optimizing reporting, emissions tracking, and compliance while reducing manual data entry,” says Tatsuomi Hori, Director and Executive Officer of Nisshin Shipping. “OrbitMI delivers exactly that, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.”

OrbitMI simplifies compliance by consolidating key regulatory data in one interface. Operators can monitor emissions, track voyage performance, and generate reports for CII, EU Allowances (EUAs) under the Emissions Trading System (ETS), and FuelEU costs. Real-time alerts on speed, ETA, and fuel consumption enable proactive decision-making.

“Regulatory compliance is complex, but it shouldn’t be a burden,” says Ali Riaz, CEO of OrbitMI. “By eliminating system silos and centralizing emissions insights, OrbitMI enables Nisshin Shipping to reduce administrative overhead, cut emissions-related costs, and enhance overall operational efficiency. The result is not just compliance—but smarter, more profitable fleet operations.”

The agreement marks the beginning of a long-term cooperative relationship between the two companies. “From the start, our vision has been to empower industry leaders with data-driven decision-making,” notes Riaz. “Nisshin Shipping exemplifies this forward-thinking approach. Their commitment to sustainability and operational excellence makes them an ideal partner as we continue shaping the future of maritime intelligence together.”
