Scorpio invests in BWTS

Scorpio Tankers (STI) is to purchase 55 Ecochlor ballast water treatment systems (BWTS), as well as buying a minority stake in the equipment manufacturer.

Retrofits on product carriers are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2018 and continue to the end of 2022. The vessels to be fitted will be of Handysize up to LR2s.
