LAB021 Signs Contract with SONGA of Scotland for Vessellink Solution

Busan, July 25, 2024 – Global maritime IT solutions company LAB021 Co., Ltd. announced that it has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Scottish shipping company Songa Shipmanagement Ltd on July 1, 2024. This agreement will supply the Vessellink solution to all 31 tankers and container ships managed by Songa Shipmanagement. The goal of this contract is to drive digital innovation in the maritime industry and significantly enhance the efficiency of Songa Shipmanagement's vessel management and operations.
 
The Vessellink solution is an integrated maritime IT solution that offers a variety of features, including real-time vessel monitoring, route optimization, and energy management. Through this solution, Songa Shipmanagement will be able to analyze vessel operation data in real-time, reduce fuel consumption, and set optimal routes to comply with environmental regulations. Additionally, by using Vessellink's for Ship solution, Songa Shipmanagement will replace its current onboard reporting system, further accelerating the efficiency, data verification, and digitalization of its vessel operations.
 
This contract was recommended by the Korean Register (KR), which facilitated the agreement due to Songa Shipmanagement's high evaluation of the compatibility between KR's decarbonization verification solution, KR GEARS, and Vessellink. Songa Shipmanagement's relevant person commented, "LAB021's Vessellink solution will be a crucial tool in achieving our sustainable shipping operation goals."
LAB021's CEO, Lee Sang-bong, stated, "This contract marks a significant milestone in accelerating the digital transformation of the maritime industry. This contract was established based on close cooperation between the two companies and will support Songa Shipmanagement’s digital transformation through ongoing upgrades and technical support of the Vessellink solution. The two companies plan to conduct joint research projects on marine environmental protection and energy saving in the future.
 
LAB021 continues to strengthen its competitiveness in the global market with innovative technology in the maritime IT solutions field and plans to further solidify its presence in the European market, including Scotland, through this contract.
