Another BWTS receives USCG approval

The US Coast Guard’s Marine Safety Center has issued its 24th Ballast Water Management System Type Approval Certificate to HANLA IMS.

The HANLA IMS EcoGuardian BWTS consists of filtration with electrolysis treatment at uptake and neutralisation during discharge.

This approval covers models with maximum treatment rated capacities between 130 cu m per hour and 4,000 cu m per hour.

In addition, the USCG’s Office of Operating and Environmental Standards has announced that it accepted PIA GmbH located in Aachen, Germany as a new independent laboratory for BWMS testing.
