Dakar success for SafeSTS

Following the establishment of its West African lightering base at Dakar in 2013, SafeSTS said that it now provides a ship-to-ship (STS) transfer service to a strong client base of oil and gas majors.

Transfers usually taking place in the region of latitude 14°40 ?North/longitude 17°20 ? West.

Commenting on the company's performance in West Africa, SafeSTS managing director, Yvonne Mason, said: "Dakar has one of the largest deepwater ports out of West Africa coast, situated at the crossroads of the major sea lanes linking Europe to South America. 

“Its deep-draft structure and access channel allows round-the-clock access to the port. Its current infrastructure includes tanker vessel loading and unloading terminals," she said.
