Diving companies ramp up services

Apr 05 2019

Trident, a Wärtsilä subsidiary, is strengthening its underwater-related service capabilities with the opening of a new diving centre in Fujairah.

This expansion into a major global shipping region will enhance Wärtsilä’s ability to serve its global customers with underwater repairs, refurbishments and maintenance. The UAE centre became fully operational in February 2019.

“Our certified technicians can perform safe, reliable, and cost-effective repairs either underwater or afloat. Furthermore, we can assess repair requirements with thorough underwater inspections by our specialist teams. This adds considerable customer value since it increases the vessel’s operational efficiency while minimising its downtime,” said William Winters, Trident managing director.

Wärtsilä already has strong underwater servicing capabilities in Europe through its acquisition of the Trident Group in February, 2018, and its subsequent acquisition of the Spanish underwater services company Burriel Navarro later that year.

In addition, FN Diving Rotterdam has opened a new office in Algeciras, Spain.

FN Diving Algeciras is a new subsidiary with full support of FN Diving in Rotterdam and operates in Spain, Portugal and North Africa.

With the addition of this new location, FN Diving supports its underwater repair services on the Spanish South Coast with local resources, from Algeciras to Cadiz to Tanger and Malaga, Almeria and Valencia.
