Based in Dubai, he will report to RH’s regional director.
Idnani holds an MBA and was a Chief Engineer. He has nearly 25 years working experience in the maritime industry, starting his career as a marine engineer on board a variety of ships for 10 years before being employed by multinational corporations in Dubai.
He has held regional responsibilities of sales, business development and marketing, working for service companies, shiprepair/building, ship designers and most recently as principal consultant/business development leader for a major class society.
Since 2012, Idnani has been the Honorary Secretary of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) UAE Branch.
GP Global (Formerly Gulf Petrochem Group) has expanded its European and Asia/Pacific bunkering operations with the appointment of five senior traders alongside the establishment of a new office in Hull, UK and a new branch office in Seoul, South Korea.
Steven Taylor, lead – physical supply, West of Suez and Susan Needham,trading operator – physical supply West of Suez, both previously of OceanConnect Marine UK, a Glencore subsidiary, bring over 30 years’ of experience in the market and will lead the new GP Global office in Hull.
At GP Global’s London office, Chris Holroyd and Dave Matthews, two experienced traders, joined as bunker traders, West of Suez and will be developing and growing GP Global’s trading desk.
Holroyd, previously of KPI Bridge Oil, brings with him over 20 years’ experience in the industry. Matthews, also previously of Ocean Connect Marine UK, has over nine years’ experience in the industry with particular skills in risk management and contract negotiations.
Both the Hull and London offices will report to Chris Todd, head of bunkering, West of Suez at GP Global.
Joining GP Global’s Asia/Pacific operations as a senior bunker trader is Robin Park.He will lead the South Korean operations in the group’s new office in Seoul. Prior to joining GP Global, he worked with Asia MBS and Cockett Marine Oil in South Korea, as well as Glander International Bunkering in Singapore.
He will report to Anil Keswani, head of bunkering, East of Suez at GP Global.
Goltens has appointed Pravin Kirolikar as managing director of Goltens Dubai. Kirolikar makes the move from Goltens India, where he served as managing director for eight years.
Replacing him as managing director for Goltens India is R Sudharshan, moving up after serving seven years as its operations head.
In addition, B Jeyanthan has been appointed generalmanager of Goltens Bahrain. and Viraj Padiyar was recently named general manager for Goltens Abu Dhabi.
Britannia has boosted its underwriting presence with three appointments, as part of the company’s growth strategy and to further enhance service delivery.
This recruitment drive comes as the 30-year underwriting career of Steve Myatt comes to an end, as he has decided to step down from his role as underwriting director.
John O’Flaherty joins from broker JLT to head up the Club’s new Singapore operation. He worked for JLT in Dubai for five years having previously been with Skuld P&I Club and brokers AON Heath Lambert.
The move to put an underwriting presence in Singapore comes as the Club looks to bring parity of operations across the Association which will also see current London head office based underwriter, Richard Inman, relocate to the Association’s Hong Kong office later this year.
Strengthening the Club’s position in Asia is a key strategic goal that will enhance its competitiveness and service in a region that accounts for nearly 50% of the Association’s business, the club said.
To complement the expanding overseas operation and to enhance underwriting capacity from Britannia’s London headquarters, it has recruited Andrew Reynolds from brokers Marsh and Helen Todd from Shipowners P&I Club.
Simon Williams, having moved from North P&I Club in early 2017 will take on the No 2 slot from Myatt, supporting Mike Hall - Britannia’s CUO.
Gard has announced that Mark Russell has been appointed managing director of the Hong Kong office effective 1st August, 2018.
He replaces Trygve Nokleby who will be returning to Gard in Bergen in a senior position.
Based at Gard UK, Russell will leave his current post of vice president, head of cargo claims, which he has held since 2010, and in which he had overall responsibility for P&I Cargo Claims (dry and liquid) across all Gard offices.
Finally, LOC Group, the international marine and engineering consulting firm, has appointed of Dr RV Ahilan to the position of joint CEO, alongside Jerome Rutler.
