Swedish-based Furetank Chartering, a member of the Gothia Tanker Alliance, is to commercial manage two more tankers.

OH Meling Tankers and DSD Shipping’s 2009-built vessels ’Stavfjord’ and ‘Stav Viking’ will be delivered to Furetank Chartering this month and trade in the intermediate vessels segment.

All technical, crewing, quality and vetting management will remain with OSM Ship Management.

In addition, on 14th March, the Alliance took delivery of its fifth out of six newbuildings.

The ‘Fure Ven’, managed by Furetank, was built at the AVIC Dingheng shipyard in China.

All of the 16,300 dwt Ice Class 1A vessels are fitted with batteries and dual fuel engines for LNG propulsion.

Each of the new ships features a length of 149 m and a beam of 22.8 m.

Members of the alliance, Furetank Rederi, Rederi AB Älvtank and Thun Tankers, ordered six intermediate-size tankers of which Furetank will own three, Älvtank two and Thun Tankers one.

They will be commercially managed by Furetank Chartering.
