HHI produces 1,500th ACONIS

May 06 2016

Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI)has produced 1,500 ship sets of ACONIS (Automation Communication & Navigation Information Solution).

ACONIS is an integrated ship automation system that HHI developed in 1993.

The system can remotely measure pressure and temperatures of major machinery and the level of fuel and ballast water in ships, sending the collected data to a ships centralised control centre and ashore in real time.

HHI installed the 1,500th ACONIS on board an 84,000 cu m LPG carrier ordered by Petredec. In 2012, HHI introduced an upgraded version of ACONIS-DS (digital ship version) for prevention diagnosis and ship maintenance systems by collecting and analysing ship voyage information.

Since 1993, HHI said that it had sold ACONIS to 240 clients in 46 countries, and generated $216 mill in sales. HHI plans to expand ACONIS application.
