Speedcast International has announced that satellite industry veteran Toni Lee Rudnicki has joined the company in the newly created role of vice president of global marketing.

Ms Rudnicki has successfully defined and implemented marketing and branding strategies for both private and public companies.

The appointment is the latest step in the company's effort to strengthen its leadership team as it capitalises on the growing demand for high quality, always available global communications, Speedcast said.

"As we rapidly pursue the transformation of Speedcast's business, we recognise the need to place more focus and energy on our marketing efforts," said Pierre-Jean Beylier, Speedcast CEO. "We are excited that top talent in the industry wants to join Speedcast. Toni Lee brings an impressive blend of both strategic and tactical marketing expertise, and we are delighted to have her on board at such an exciting and pivotal time for the company."

Previously, Ms Rudnicki was chief marketing officer for iDirect where she drove the transformation of the company into a leading brand within the satellite industry. Just before joining Speedcast, she was responsible for marketing and business development for the Agilis Business Unit of ST Engineering in Singapore.

In her new position with Speedcast, Ms Rudnicki will be responsible for all global marketing activities, including branding, messaging, strategic marketing, vertical marketing, analyst relations, advertising, public relations, alliance marketing, and Ronny Larsen will join Norwegian Hull Club as the new Head of Charterer´s P&I on 1st October, 2017.

“Sean comes to C-MAP with an impressive and very relevant background,” said Hugo Maurstad, chairman of the board, C-Map Group. “His past experience demonstrates a natural ability to build and lead technical professionals towards effective product development and facilitate strategic execution of profitable sales initiatives. We are confident Sean will help us capitalise on the C-MAP platform to win the digital battle for recreational and commercial shipping market share."

“C-MAP has demonstrated exceptional development as a brand and has shown it is well positioned for continued expansion. I welcome the opportunity to guide the professional and dedicated C-MAP team to break new ground in product innovation,” said Fernback.

At the recent Annual General Meeting of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC), Themis Papadopoulos, CEO of Interorient Shipmanagement, was re-elected to the Board and re-appointed as its President for a further two year term.

The CSC is Cyprus' main resident shipping association incorporating more than 170 shipping related member companies.

Papadopoulos emphasised the necessity to maintain a strong Cyprus shipping industry, as the ever-growing global shipping market demands high quality operations and services.

He pointed out that his main aim for the Chamber is to work very closely with the Cyprus Government, the House of Representatives and all the Chamber associates, in order to ensure that Cyprus maintains and increases its attractiveness, both in terms of a high quality and safety conscious registry, as well as a competitive and business-friendly base of operation for shipping and shipping related companies.
