Shipping companies will benefit from reduced communication costs, included hardware and quick and easy installation, the company claimed.
The company offers a monthly flat rate product near to the shore and in harbours without extra roaming costs, which is tailored for shipping companies who do not need global coverage.
The shipznet worldwide solution covers more than 130 countries worldwide. However, not every shipping company needs a big solution, the company said.
The new mid-size data package focuses on the main shipping routes and includes 55 countries located in Europe, US, Russia, China and Singapore.
“Our mid-size package meets the demands of shipping companies, which are interested in a smart and technically reliable solution at transparent costs.
“Our customers want to avoid bad surprises on the budget at the end of the month yet aim to support their crew or need a complementary system for their on board solution,” said Claudia Bobzin, Bobz managing director.
Shipznet can be integrated into an existing on board IT infrastructure. It consists of a small above deck unit with two antennas, which can be installed easily by the crew. A below deck unit serves as router and takes over the power supply for the above deck unit.
It complements either FleetBroadband, regarding high volume costs, or Iridium, regarding low transfer rates.
Shipping companies with a fleet operating in the area covered by the Shipznet mid-size package can reduce their communication costs and avoid the handling of many international SIM cards.
