Jebsen, who was elected unopposed at InterManager’s AGM in Singapore, succeeded Gerardo Borromeo, vice chairman and CEO of Philippine Transmarine Carriers, who stepped down after four years at the helm.
Speaking during his first address as President, Jebsen who is CEO of Jebsens, said: “I am a strong believer in the overall objective of InterManager, which is to improve the image of shipping, the position of shipmanagers and to support the careers of seafarers. I am looking forward to encouraging a cohesive dialogue between shipmanagers, owners and other stakeholders to build a sustainable future for our industry.”
Borromeo will continue as a vice chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), as a member of the executive board of the World Maritime University and as vice chairman and CEO of Philippine Transmarine Carriers, one of the largest crew management companies in the Philippines, with a total pool of 45,000 maritime professionals.
****Capt Patrick McGroggan (ConocoPhillips) is OCIMF’s new Compliance Manager.
He replaced Capt Shaikh Rahim on 1st October.
Rahim has returned to ExxonMobil having served four years in the role, which is an essential element of the OCIMF’s SIRE and OVID governance to maintain the integrity of these programmes.
OCIMF also said farewell to Raj Shetty after four years as Senior Technical Adviser.
****London Offshore Consultants (LOC) has appointed Mark McGurran as the group director for hull and machinery services.
“It is with great pleasure that I am able to advise that as from September, 2016, Mark McGurran has accepted the role and will continue to be based in Singapore. He will work closely with LOC Group and the regional hub offices in ensuring our continued growth and expansion into this valuable market,” said Nick Haslam, LOC’s group director for shipping services.

He was formerly with Elka Shipping.
