Saudi ports Worldscale changes from May

Apr 28 2017

Worldscale rates for loading at Ras Tanura, Juaymah and Ras Al Khafji and the Saudi Arabian Fixed Rate Differential have been revised.

This was due to a new tariff structure for tonnage dues, the Worldscale Association (WA) said in a circular.

“Amended rates for voyages involving loading at Ras Tanura or Juaymah or Ras Al Khafji are obtainable by deducting $0.09 for all rates for voyages involving these ports,” the circular said, according to Platts.

This would apply once per voyage, for calls involving one or more of the above ports, WA explained.

The Saudi Arabian fixed rate differential of $0.27 per tonne for cargo loaded or discharged now also applies to Juaymah, Ras al Khafji and Ras Tanura, in addition to the original ports of Jubail, Rabigh and Yanbu.

The amendments are effective for all voyages on which loading is started on or after 1st May, 2017, Platts reported.
