FuelTrax gets EU patent nod

May 10 2013

Nautical Controls Solutions’ FuelTrax system has gained a European Union protection award.

The marine fuel management system was granted an EU patent number for ‘Apparatus and Method for Fuel Measurement and Accountability’.

It was granted patent protection by the European Patent Office (EPO), which is a member of the trilateral co-operation established in 1983 between the European, Japanese, and US patent offices.

“We announced our Canadian patent last year and are pleased to be able to expand protection to include the EU”, said Anthony George, CEO of NCS. “Under the EPO we selected the countries we believe will offer us the largest blanket of protection within the European community.”

The FuelTrax EU patent includes: UK, Germany, France, The Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Greece.

George continued, “We were granted our first patent in the US in 2006 and now with the addition of the EU, are protected in 11 countries. It is important to have these protections in place, as we continue to invest in our product offerings and expand globally.”
