Books - Supertanker: Living on a Monster VLCC

Jul 26 2019

What is it like living on one of these giants? What are the daily challenges for the crew and what happens when things go wrong?

In the book, author and former VLCC Master, Dr Ray Solly examines life at sea on board a 1970s built tanker, talking of the complexities of navigation, ship handling, safety and cargo control.

He writes about the realities of life at sea and says why international safety and competency had to be improved.

The book is well illustrated with photographs and diagrams and is published by the History Press.
