Transas Academy launched

Transas launched its newly established Transas Academy during the simulation user conference (SimUC), which took place in Singapore last month.

Part of the new THESIS initiative (see last week’s news), the main purpose of the Transas Academy is to provide stakeholders with integrated solutions and high quality content, aimed at bridging the gap between STCW and the required competency level.

It facilitates all aspects of simulation and training by bringing technology, expertise and content together, Transas claimed.

A keynote address given by CEO Frank Coles, asked SimUC participants to rethink the role of training and Master on board in today's shipping environment. "If we are to have a successful transition to the new reality, we should consider how to train the new team, the fleet resource team, and empower the Master but also provide training on working together," he said.
