Tanker Market Outlook 2H 2020: charting the course ahead

Aug 06 2020

Presented by Braemar ACM & Vortexa.

Looking back at 1H 2020 tanker freight markets went from boom to bust. Ton-mile demand continues to be on the declining trend towards yearly lows and utilisation has weakened across tanker classes. Unique market conditions that led to the floating storage rush were not sustainable in the long-term and were unable to help prop rates at yearly highs. If freight remains pressured will this lead to an uptick in flows or is demand set to remain low for the short to medium-term?

Join Braemar Regional Head of Tanker Research Anoop Singh and Vortexa Lead Freight Analyst Arthur Richier and as they delve deep into the key drivers of the tanker freight markets today, the rise of floating storage, and how supply and demand will ultimately impact freight rates.
